Pallas's Gull

Pallas's Gull

Larus ichthyaetus

This adult Pallas's Gull was the second of Sweden following a adult bird seen shortly at  Rivet, Gotland on July 20th 2008.
The bird today January 4th 2013, was found around 09.45 this morning by Ove Petterson, and it flew east at 15.06. This is a normal behavior of Gulls in the area, and hopefully the bird is seen again tomorrow.
The bird was filmed by Magnus Corell (the upper video), and Stefan Göransson (the lower video).

This was surprisingly not the only mega of the day in Sweden, a Greater Yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca) was found at Skillinge, Skåne, the third of Sweden, but this bird flew south after an hour.
