The only previous record of this species in Ireland, was a tide-line corpse found on North Bull Island on March 1954 assigned to Category D3 on the Irish-list.

This bird was seen Clonakilty, only for two hours on June 7th 2009.
In Wales the same individual as present in Ireland was found on June 15th at Porthmadog/Abersoch, Gwynedd, and on June 20th at Llandudno, Conwy.

In Ireland the bird was filmed by Paul Moore.
