Spanish Sparrow
Passer hispaniolensis
This bird was apparently found by Mattias Ullman May 27th 2013 at 06.10 in the morning at Nabben Falsterbo. Mattias only saw it from the back and he didn't make a perfect ID, but he had a good feeling.
A ringer from Spain named Marcel was working at Falsterbo ligthouse, almost didn't believe what he saw when he found the bird flying outside the lighthouse garden, fortunately at 06.45 it was trapped and ringed. At Falsterbo lighthouse, it was shown at 07:00, the bird was seen shortly after the release.
This was the 2nd of Sweden, the first was a male in Småland on May 19th 2013, the video can be seen here.
The happy moment was filmed by Björn Malmhagen.
