Southern Grey Shrike

Southern Grey Shrike

Lanius meridionalis





This bird was found at Texel on October 28th 2012, and it was seen until November 9th. The bird was of the subspecies ssp. pallidirostris, the second for The Netherlands.
It was filmed by Tijmem van Doornik.

    Hi,

    This is a Steppe (Grey) Shrike, not a Southern Grey Shrike.

    Hi Willem, i know but the taxa is still discussed, and it is mentioned in the tekst that it is a ssp. pallidirostris.

    Ah ok, in The Netherlands we already call the ssp pallidirostris a species, so now I understand the confusion.. ;)
