Sardinian Warbler

Sardinian Warbler

Sylvia melanocephala

Record footage taken at the moment of the find. Bob Flood did a big-year list in 2002 and set a new record for Scilly of 233 species. There were some near misses and at one time it looked like Sardinian Warbler would be one of them- Bob was away when a Sardinian Warbler was found on St Agnes. Remarkably, he found this first summer male on St Martin's shortly after returning to Scilly and clawed it back for his year list.
It was found on April 21st 2002 and seen until april 24th, and was filmed by Bob Flood.
