Butorides virescens
Cornwalls second Green Heron was found at Heligan Gardens by Bob Mitchell on October 6th 2010. Remarkably the first was 'collected' at Pentewan just a few miles fron Heligan in 1889. This 1 cy bird was seen until December 1st, and was the 7th record for the UK. The bird was filmed by John Chapple.
